Ganoderma and Diabetes Facts
Diabetes occurs when the amount of glucose in your blood is too high because the body cannot use it properly. This is because your pancreas does not produce any insulin, or not enough, to help glucose enter your body’s cells – or the insulin that is produced does not work properly.
Insulin is a hormone made in your pancreas that allows glucose to enter your body’s cells that is used as fuel for energy. It is vital for your body to function.
Before I go into detail about the benefits of using reishi ganoderma lucidum to help protect against diabetes developing and how it can help existing diabetes patients..
Ganoderma lucidum is not a miracle cure and you should always follow your physicians advice for the treatment and prevention of diabetes.
With that said..
There have been extensive medical tests and university studies on the benefits of ganoderma and diabetes that I have trawled through (so you don’t have to) that I will review and highlight just some of those papers here.
In 2002 a US Patent was issued to Japanese researchers who had devised a natural formula for treating diabetes. The formulas main active ingredient was (you guessed it), ganoderma lucidum extract. (ref 1)
In 2004 another test on Type II diabetes patients revealed that out of the 71 patients who were prescribed ganoderma lucidum for 12 weeks significantly reduced the blood glucose levels. (ref 2)
Half of the group was given the Reishi Ganoderma extract and the other half received placebo for 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, all of them were evaluated for the signs of change.
After 12 weeks, the group that received the Reishi Ganoderma extract showed SIGNIFICANT reduction of their glycosylated hemoglobin A1c, levels while the group that received the placebo had NO CHANGE or even a slight increase in all the parameters tested. The extract was also well tolerated.
Basically this means that Ganoderma lucidum could have potential therapeutic use for the treatment of diabetes.

I hope you found this article helpful. Since I have been researching the benefits of Ganoderma Lucidum I have been using a premium ganoderma extract that was discovered after several attempts to obtain the good extract and I hope you can also benefit from the positive benefits of a premium ganoderma extract.
